Protect Timothy
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
PROTECT TIMOTHY
(A downloadable demonstration of FMOD implementation by Perplexing Bestiary)
Well, hello!
The download button is at the bottom. I tried to make it show up at the top, but I couldn't, sorry.
CONTROLS
The controls are simple:
- Left Arrow
- Right Arrow
- Up Arrow
- Down Arrow
Maybe you can use your WASD keys too, but I didn't tell the program to do that so that would be pretty weird if it worked.
STORY
I lied. There is no story.
You play as a little rectangle with a gun. Timothy is your friend. He's a little square in the middle of the screen.
You can't feel pain.
Timothy can feel pain.
You must protect Timothy.
ME
(You probably just want to skip this section; it isn't going to be very interesting. But quick! Here are my links and stuff before you leave. Some of the stuff on the YouTube channel is pretty cool.)

My name is Daniel Vilaire. I am a freelance videogame composer and sound designer. Since I haven't had much prior, official experience with FMOD audio implementation, I thought I'd make a game to try it out.
I started learning Unity and C# about a month ago and finally was able to create a game good enough to test implementation.
The one-shot effects of enemies dying and guns firing were all created in Cubase and then implemented into Unity through FMOD.
The background music for the main game area was composed of five layers. Each layer's volume is dynamically controlled based on the distance between Timothy and approaching enemies, fading in at different intervals if an enemy gets too close. The current layer will fade out when appropriate if no enemies currently occupy that region.
If you read all the way to the bottom, then, congratulations! I'm glad you made it. I don't know why you did read all of that but thank you anyway I really appreciate it. Please feel free to look at my YouTube channel there's more music-y stuff on it and I think some of it's pretty cool.
In any case, I can't imagine having a description section this long is very good for visuals on this page, so I'll just end it here.
See ya later!
